SERMA Energy works closely with all SERMA Group subsidiaries on qualification, engineering, industrialisation and physical expertise and with partner laboratories on mechanical and chemical tests.
SERMA Technologies and SERMA Ingénierie provide abuse test services, electronic and engineering expertise on the different Group sites in France: Grenoble, Chambéry, Guyancourt and Pessac.
SERMA also benefits from CEA and CEA Tech expertise on R&D, simulation, digitisation and robotisation activities.+

SERMA’s objective is to:

  • Support the growth of players around high performance batteries, energy conversion and e-mobility applications,
  • To support and contribute to the energy and environmental transformation for the entire value chain from R&D, through industrialisation, up to product validation
  • To design innovating test resources to complete its assets and meet specific needs,
  • To set up a multi-sector skill and expertise centre for a wide range of technology.

The platform primarily serves the automotive market, faced with the transition from internal combustion engines to all-electric, but also all sectors impacted by electrification, such as aeronautics for hybrid and electric aircraft, or the tertiary sector around smart grids (intelligent energy storage and management networks), for example.

History

To support the strong growth of the electrical energy sector and continue its growth in the testing sector around e-mobility, SERMA Group created SERMA Energy. The test centre was officially inaugurated in January 2019.

SERMA Energy was set up with the support of the French Nouvelle-Aquitaine region as part of the “Energy 2020” project aiming to make the Region and SERMA leaders in green mobility solution testing and certification.

SERMA Energy is located on the AMPéRIS technology estate in Pessac, France, a few hundred yards from SEMA Group’s historical headquarters. It completes the Group’s technological assets serving the microelectronics, power electronics, embedded systems and cybersecurity sectors, and consolidates the one-stop expertise and consulting shop it offers around electronics and systems.

SERMA Energy is booming and plans to continuously increase its testing capacity.
