SERMA Energy settles in Spain and creates SERMA Energy Iberica

In order to support the strong growth of the electrical energy sector, the SERMA group opened in 2019 a test, expertise and testing platform of more than 5000sqm in Bordeaux (France), and is now creating a new company in Spain, in Valladolid.SERMA is a long-term player in the automotive industry. Over the last ten years, the group has established a privileged partnership with RENAULT. To meet the new challenges of its customers, SERMA Energy is developing a test centre in Spain.

Located in Valladolid where Renault has a large production and R&D centre, the new SERMA test platform should be operational in November.

This new company primarily aims at testing RENAULT’s hybrid and plug-in hybrid batteries, particularly by carrying out verification and functional tests. Beyond this partnership, SERMA Energy plans to establish a long-term presence in Spain to meet the needs of local customers.

SERMA Energy works in close collaboration with SERMA Group other subsidiaries for qualification, engineering, industrialization and physical expertise, as well as with partner laboratories for mechanical and chemical testing.

SERMA Energy completes the group’s technological facilities serving the microelectronics, embedded systems and cybersecurity fields, and consolidates the one-stop shop for expertise and consultancy that it offers around electronics and systems. SERMA Group, based in France (near Bordeaux) for nearly 30 years, has been carrying out expertise and tests on power electronics and batteries for many years.

Regarding its development around batteries and hydrogen, SERMA Group is considering several possibilities for its future locations in France.
